Does The Cold Affect The Quality of My Propane?

Know what to expect come winter time

propane tank Hamilton, TXOnce fall comes and goes here in Central Texas and we start to feel that winter chill in the air, you may remember that there are some things you need to take care of before winter officially hits. Making sure there is a snowbrush in your car, checking to see if your winter jacket still fits and testing out your fireplace to ensure it is still operational may all be items on your winter preparation to-do list. What is affected is the pressure of a propane tank.

When it gets cold propane contracts, which decreases its volume and causes it to take up less room in a propane tank. This contributes to a drop in the internal pressure of your tank.

Sounds like it would be better to keep the pressure of your propane tank consistent all throughout the winter, right? Right!
